Manchester United have bolstered their attacking options with the £70 million capture of Bryan Mbeumo from Brentford, while Marcus Rashford has completed a loan move to Barcelona ahead of the 2025/26 season.
Mbeumo, 25, arrives at Old Trafford after six successful years with Brentford, where he scored 70 goals and provided 51 assists in 242 appearances.
United endured tough negotiations with Brentford, who were reluctant to sell and reportedly altered their demands multiple times. Despite interest from other top clubs, including Arsenal and Chelsea, Mbeumo opted for United and will join their U.S. pre-season tour.
Meanwhile, Rashford’s time at United appears to be winding down. The 27-year-old England international completed his medical in Barcelona on Monday and will be officially unveiled this week.
The loan deal includes an option for the Catalan club to sign him permanently for £26 million next summer. Barcelona are expected to cover his full wages, though registration issues remain due to ongoing financial constraints.
The move comes after United boss Ruben Amorim publicly questioned Rashford’s attitude, stripping him of the No. 10 shirt, which now belongs to Matheus Cunha. As United moves forward, Rashford will hope for a fresh start in La Liga.
