Cristiano Ronaldo’s contract with Al-Nassr was about to expire in the upcoming summer. However, reports suggest that Ronaldo is signing an extension with them.
Ronaldo signed the Knights of Najd in December 2022. He signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Najd for about $75 million per year. However, last year, there were rumors that suggested that Ronaldo had received an extension from Al-Nassr for around €200 million for an year.
As per the Saudi media, the 5-time Ballon d’Or winner has renewed his contract for another season with Al-Nassr. The news was shared on Saudi media social handles, to which fans have reacted differently.
Some fans looked happy, praising Ronaldo’s decision, while others taunted that he is all about money. Some fans also said that it is a poor decision by Cristiano to have an extension with Al-Nassr.
This news also sparked hopes for Ronaldo to play in the 2026 world cup among the fans. But this also means that Ronaldo won’t be returning to fans’ favourite club for the time being.
As a part of this extension, the Portuguese forward will now hold about a 5% stake in the club. He is still one of the highest-paid footballers in the world.
